Derek Hartis

Derek Hartis, a successful entrepreneur and founder of Vera Life, was formerly a singer & songwriter from Fairfield, TX.  He was raised on a small farm in the country where he learned about good morals and hard work from his parents.  Derek grew up listening to traditional country music singers like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Lefty Frizzell, George Strait, and Randy Travis.  After 4 years in high school as a successful student athlete, Derek graduating from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a Business Degree.  He would then soon turn a love of music and a part time hobby into a full time professional career.  He performed and played traditional country music in honky tonks, dance halls, and bars in the late 80’s and early 90’s with his brother and his 6 member band Midnight Crossing.   After becoming a regional attraction in Texas, he was discovered by a Garth Brooks concert promoter in 1990 at a live performance and soon taken to Nashville as a new recording artist to work with Music Rows top producers and musicians. His original songs were copyrighted and registered with BMI Nashville.  He released 2 country single songs in 1990 and he was right in the middle of recording more songs for a new album in Nashville in 1991, when a devastating throat surgery and bad health put his music career quickly on hold. Tired of the stressful grueling and unhealthy lifestyle, he decided to stay at home and raise a family.  He would eventually turn his many health struggles into something positive and would eventually form several health and wellness companies that have generated millions of dollars of annual revenue and his unique formulas and products have benefited the lives of thousands of other people around the world.  Derek has a personal mission to empower people to achieve optimal health and happiness.  He has been involved in the formulation, manufacturing, and distribution of many successful unique nutritional products.
